Came out to my truck after work and my truck wouldnt start. Did the typical dead battery tickticktick when I turned the ignition and then nothing. Tried this a few more times and it did nothing. Now it wont even tick. Tried boosting it and it didn’t help at all. Any ideas? It drove fine 4 hours earlier, shouldn’t of been any drain.

Starter solenoid...?

It can still be the battery even if it drove fine a few hours ago. My Roadmaster’s battery shit the bed at the gas station a couple months ago after I tanked it up. When they’re done, they’re done.

Assuming no bad fuses or grounds, sounds like the starter? Do you have a hammer?

Give the starter a wack? It solenoid might be stuck. Else could be just some bad cells in the battery.

Could be just a bad connection.

Disconnected the battery, cleaned the terminals off and it started. Died at the stop sign as I left the parking lot though, but made it home.

Disconnected the battery, cleaned terminals, it started right up. Died at the stop sign leaving the parking lot but managed to get it home.

I’d get the battery load tested, then you’ll know for sure.

Sonoma ownership, that’s familiar to me. I think you can get your alternator checked at Auto Zone for free. And of course check your battery.

Hows your battery look? Is the case deformed? Vents popped up? Is the Alternator light on in the dash?
